Frontgate Trees 101

For many of us, Christmas trees are the symbol of the holidays, and we have a longstanding tradition of gathering around them with family and friends. If you’ve decided an artificial tree is best for your home, we’re here to help you find the perfect tree to cherish for years to come.

FINDING THE RIGHT SIZE AND SHAPE FOR YOUR HOME

In order to choose the tree that’s right for you, it’s important to first determine where you will place your tree.

Our trees range in size from 3 feet to 12 feet tall, making them adaptable to almost any space. Do you have low or vaulted ceilings? A general guideline is to keep at least six inches between your treetop and ceiling to account for a decorative topper. So, if you have standard 9-foot ceilings, and a 12-inch tree topper, you’d want to choose a 7-1/2-foot tree. Also, it’s important to note that as your tree gets taller, its base gets wider so make sure you have adequate space to accommodate.

Tree Sizes

Under 6 Feet
For tabletops and small spaces. Some suitable for outdoor use.
6 – 6½ Feet
Made for rooms with low ceilings.
7 – 7½ Feet
Ideal for standard 9-foot ceilings.
8 – 9 Feet
Perfect for rooms with high ceilings.
10 – 14 Feet
Perfect for vaulted ceilings.
15 Feet and Above
Ideal for show-stopping displays.

Tree Shapes

Equally important as size is a tree’s shape. Embrace a full tree with robust branches if you have the space that allows for it. Slim trees, on the other hand, are perfect for smaller spaces and narrow rooms. Measure your room and check our trees’ dimensions to identify the ideal fit for your space.

REALISM

How Realistic Will My Tree Look?

Our trees offer it all — striking realism without any of the maintenance. They are impressively realistic, down to the budding needles and nuanced color. We were the first to create foliage molds using branches and tips found in nature, mimicking their natural shade and texture, and we continue to do it best.

Tip Count

A tree’s tip count indicates how full your tree will look. If you like to go ornament-heavy, you may want a tree with a lower tip count to leave room for your embellishments. On the other hand, a higher tip count will best suit a more minimal decor theme.

Needle Material

Our trees feature molded polyethylene (PE) needles on the outer tips of each branch and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) needles toward the center of the tree. Branch specimens are gathered from forests, molded, and infused with PE polymer to create the most lifelike artificial trees on the market.

TREE VARIETIES

Everyone has a different preference when it comes to their favorite variety of Christmas tree. That’s why each tree we offer has a distinct, realistic look that mimics a real tree variety in size, needle length, color, texture, branch shape and density.

OTHER FACTORS TO CONSIDER

You’ve identified the kind of tree you’re interested in, now here are some other points to consider when choosing the right tree for you.

Lights

Our trees come pre-lit with hand-strung lights that are ready to use once assembled. All our 7-1/2-foot and larger trees have energy-efficient, long-lasting LEDs.

Price

Due to their longevity, artificial trees tend to cost more than real trees. Prices vary depending on size, fullness, realism, needle composition and light type. Once you’ve determined your price point, finding the right tree will be much easier.

Decorating Style

Like to go all-out with ornaments? Go for a tree with wider-spread branches to better show off your festive display. If minimal is more your style, a fuller tree is the option for you.

Tree Toppers

If staying true to tradition is your style, make sure your tree topper is at least six inches from your ceiling. This will ensure your topper has maximum space to show off its beauty.

Tree Skirts

When choosing your tree skirt, find one that extends four to six inches beyond your widest branch. This will ensure it remains seen even when filled with gifts.

Care And Storage

There are several ways to store your trees. Do not store them in their shipping boxes. We offer a variety of quality storage solutions from standing tree bags to rolling totes. It is important that all branches are folded gently with limited pressure to prevent damage.
