Maintenance
There are some simple preventative measures you can take to keep your sofa and other upholstered goods looking brand new every year.
Fabric: There’s nothing better than curling up on a super-soft sofa at the end of a long day. We suggest routine light vacuuming and frequent pillow rotation to ensure your fabric stays looking and feeling its best. Pilling is a natural part of a fabric’s aging process, so if it occurs, simply remove with a lint or fabric shaver. Refrain from removing cushion covers for separate dry cleaning or washing to avoid damaging the fabric. With so many fabulous fabric options available, you should consult the care guide that comes with your specific purchase to meet its individual needs.
Leather: Leather products are known for getting better with age; they develop a gorgeous natural patina and get smoother over the years. To keep your leather products from showing premature aging and fading, we recommend that you avoid placing them in direct sunlight. Additionally, keeping at least 2 feet between your leather pieces and heating sources will maintain their longevity. If dust accumulates on the surface of your furniture, simply wipe clean with a damp cloth. We discourage using household cleaning products on leather as they can wear down the leather’s protective surface.
Cushions: Sofa and chair cushions should be plush and irresistibly comfortable, inviting you to linger a little longer. To maintain these qualities, we recommend that you reverse and rotate cushions every few months so that they experience equal use. Relaxed Down Cushions benefit from being fluffed and turned every two weeks. These easy solutions will prevent the ever-dreaded indentation marks from forming. When a cushion’s fabric and contents are well taken care of, they will remain in excellent condition so you can enjoy them for years to come.
