Frontgate Summers in the Hamptons

Shingle cottages. Wraparound porches. Long, lazy afternoons. It’s the Hamptons lifestyle – the Gatsby lifestyle – and we all long to live it.

Well, you can. At least for an afternoon. If you’re in the area before Labor Day, you’ll want to check out the 12th annual Hampton Designer Showhouse in Bridgehampton. This year’s house was outfitted by some of the country’s best interior designers. And we were part of it. In fact, Frontgate furnished three outdoor spaces: one bedecked by our in-house designers, the others by New York designers Ken Gemes and Kim Hendrickson-Radovich.

Inspired by water and sky, Frontgate designers created a vibrant pool area, anchoring the space with our ocean-gray Hyde Park modular seating and pairing it with plush, cabana-striped cushions in crisp blue-and-white. We capped off the area with our cloud-white Caribbean Isle patio umbrellas. Touches of teak – our Melbourne Chat Table, Chatham Teak Lanterns, and Teak Planters – connect the pool area to the garden and yard.

The event at this year’s house, a traditional shingle-style home with seven bedrooms and 7-1/2 baths, runs through Sept. 2. Check back tomorrow to read about Ken Geme’s amazing wraparound porch.
