While Emily Ley of Simplified (the design lover’s dream for organizational tools), may have had a head start with a breathtaking ocean-filled backdrop, her considered styling is what makes this outdoor dining room. When designing the space, Emily kept several goals front and center. “We dreamed of this back porch being used in so many ways: casual weeknight family dinners, special meals like Thanksgiving and sunset get-togethers with friends,” she says. “More than anything, I wanted it to feel coastal, polished and comfortable.” Emily also wanted to ensure the space was kid-friendly. The mother of three knew the furniture and accessories would need to withstand a toddler’s slips and spills.
“I wanted a set of furniture that would be beautiful and durable for the long haul — something that would stand up to the weather, regular use, and three kids,” she says. When Emily spotted the Isola Collection in our catalog, it was love at first sight. Not only did it meet all her requirements, but it also came with an added bonus perfectly suited for her entertaining goals. “I love the color and the basketweave pattern — and that I can add or remove chairs and extend the table depending on the size of the gathering,” she says.
The space accommodates all her entertaining needs, whether hosting friends for cocktails or just enjoying coffee by herself. “I just love how the furniture and decor allow the view to shine and invite people to sit and stay a while,” she says. “I love the ways we’ve worked color, neutral tones, and beautiful finishes into the space. It feels timeless and also really thoughtful.”
